This is a collection of the Daily Inspiration for the the first few weeks of Left Brain, Write Brain’s existence. These collections are to make it easier for readers to go back and see past DI’s without having to search through the archives.
Cong Hua Lu aka LUCONG is a Chinese American artist from Colorado. Since coming across this earlier this week I have visited it at least once a day to admire his beautiful coloring and unique figures.
Nathan Fox’s online portfolio is almost as good as his comic inspired illustrations. Be sure to have your red/cyan 3D glasses ready to take advantage of the well executed anaglyph technique used.
As you browse through Jessica Hische’s portfolio, it’s quite evident that her work is not only beautifull and unique, but it’s her specialty in hand lettering that places the cherry on top. Her illustrations are as stunning as her typographic execution.
Mitch Ansara aka Spacesick recently has been spreading throughout the net for his “I Can Read Movies” fake book covers that’s style can be described as a mix between Hanna-Barbera and Saul Bass.
Nick Campbell is a motion designer for Digital Kitchen and a photographer, make sure to visit both his sites, creamy orange and greyscalegorilla
“Eli, No!” is the title of this beautiful unpublished children’s book designed by Eight Hour Day, a Minneapolis design boutique.
This book uses iconic illustrations to tell the story of a trouble-making dog. It contains bold graphics and bright colors with clean, strong typographic layouts that immediately catch your eye and leave you wanting more.
Let’s hope a publisher takes interest this little gem soon, as it looks like a great piece of work.
No patterns is Chuck Anderson’s personnal portfolio. He is a young illustrator working out of Grand Rapids, MI and kicks mucho ass.
Small Deer is the portfolio site of Manny Bernardez the Design Director at Nike Brand Design Media. His work ranges from creative and clean messaging to beautiful designs dripping with style.
Illustration Portfolio of Jon Klassen. I have been a fan of Jon since seeing some of his prints on the Nucleus store. His work is often done on very wide landscape formats. He recently posted some images of his visual development and set/prop design for the new movie Coraline by Laika.
Great inspiration for Illustrators. His one of a kind colorful style already earned him clients such as Nike and Mazda.
I am not sure if this guys needs introduction since he’s been on every design blog in the past year. Always a great source of inspiration. Plus he updates regularly (which we like).
Christopher Lee A.K.A The Beast is Back is an art director for buck design. His personal website focus on his illustration work.
Pretty Loaded brought to you by the fine folks over at Big Spaceship is an archive of some of the finest preloaders in the internet’s past and present. Something about the whole idea of a preloader loading the next preloader creating an infinite loop makes me smile.
Clever typography. Great designs. Words are pictures.
Luke lucas is a graphic designer and a typography artist doing mostly custom typography work for lifelounge magazine, he also run a blog full of typography related links. must read
“Don’t forget…” is a street art project by Epoxy, Mr Talion, Baveux and Kone where they created posters of the PhotoShop interface that would overlay nicely on top of the posters of Britney, Leona and Christina.
Great illustrations, patterns and geometric type from France.
